In 2- 2-1/2 qt bowl, combine butter syrup and sugar. Microwave high 9-15 minutes until brittle threads form when dropped in cold water. Stir every 3 minutes. In buttered 5 qt or larger container combine popcorn and nuts. Stir vanilla into syrup mix and pour over popcorn mix. Stir with meat fork until well coated. Spread single layer on 2 large sheets of waxed paper. Stand till firm and then break into small pieces and store in airtight container.
